Making a lasting impression on his audiences with some of the most challenging music in the solo piano repertory, Elia Stavrou has made connections and a thriving musical network from his experience owning and running Gaspard Music Academy - a music studio and performance venue in Richmond founded in 2021.

After studying with Jeremy Davis, a student himself of Vlado Perlemuter, Elia’s original passion for music was rooted in the French traditions of Rameau through to Debussy, Ravel and Fauré who were championed by Perlemuter and Davis. Elia’s discography includes two albums and a complete recording of Ravel’s Gaspard de la Nuit. His repertoire has since become extensive (see below) and his carefully curated programmes garner praise for their creative concepts.

A fire in 2025 destroyed Gaspard Music Academy. Trying to manage the fallout from such a catastrophic event, Elia ceased concertising for a year to try and re-establish his musical hub somewhere else and in the autumn of 2026 building work begun on a new Gaspard Music Academy not too far from the original site. Excitingly, within this interim, Elia, alongside his partner, Sally Alexander, co-found together, Through The Arch; a new performance platform championing musical storytelling across many genres including classical, jazz and neo-soul in heritage spaces utilising the couple’s esteemed musical connections built through Elia’s time running Gaspard and Sally’s work in the world of Film and TV.

Elia looks forward to concertising again in 2027 with some exciting new programmes and a new album on the way of solo piano repertoire.
